Dimora LAJ stands in the historic centre of Cagliari, on the slope that runs from the Castello district down to the marina. Behind its door lies an oasis of quiet: a lush interior garden, then a staircase rising to a panoramic terrace where a pergola looks out over the rooftops of the old town and, beyond them, the sea.
The residence was restored by a local artist, and it shows — in the proportions, in the furniture, in the way Sardinian tradition sits alongside contemporary design. The apartment takes up a whole floor of the palazzo, with the two bedrooms at either end and three bathrooms between them, so that a family or two couples can share it without ever being on top of one another.

A whole floor of a Cagliari palazzo, and it invites you to use every one of its rooms and all of its facilities — the roof terrace above all, at any hour of the day. We have always appreciated a holiday home that is well appointed and well stocked, and we now offer an extensive range of features, utilities and amenities ourselves.
Access. The apartment occupies a whole floor of an old palazzo. There is no lift and no step-free access, and there is no parking of our own — the street is in the historic centre of Cagliari.
Travelling with young children. There is no cot and no high chair. Talk to us before you book and we will tell you honestly whether the apartment suits your family.
Getting Here
The residence sits inside the historic centre, between the Castello district and the marina — the old town, the covered market, the port and the restaurants are all within walking distance, which is the reason to stay here rather than on the coast. Cagliari-Elmas airport serves most of Europe, and the beaches of the Golfo degli Angeli are a short drive away.

« Speechless! This is the first sentence that comes to mind to describe Dimora LAJ. We’ve never stayed in such a refined Airbnb; we felt like kings for a couple of days! The atmosphere is almost unreal, it’s not a home… it feels like stepping into a movie set, perhaps because of the beautiful frescoes, the spaces, and the possibility of having a terrace in the heart of Cagliari. « Très joli logement, idéalement situé en plein centre de Cagliari tout en étant très calme. Décoration raffinée, beau patio et terrasse très agréable. La climatisation est particulièrement appréciable en été. Du fait de la configuration en pente typique de Cagliari, certaines pièces du logement reçoivent assez peu de lumière naturelle. Une des chambres et la cuisine sont notamment assez sombres, avec également une légère odeur d’humidité. Nous avons aussi regretté l’absence de Wi-Fi pendant notre séjour, problème qui n’a malheureusement pas pu être résolu malgré nos échanges. L’hôte était néanmoins facilement joignable. Dans l’ensemble, un logement plein de charme et très bien situé. »
A very pretty apartment, ideally placed right in the centre of Cagliari and yet very quiet. Refined decoration, a lovely patio and a very pleasant terrace. The air conditioning is particularly welcome in summer. Because of the sloping layout typical of Cagliari, some rooms get rather little natural light. One of the bedrooms and the kitchen are noticeably dark, with a faint smell of damp as well. We also missed having Wi-Fi during our stay, a problem that unfortunately could not be resolved despite our exchanges. The host was nevertheless easy to reach. All in all, an apartment full of charm and very well located.
Good to Know
Bed linen and towels for every guest, Wi-Fi, and a fully equipped kitchen. The interior garden and the panoramic terrace are for the exclusive use of guests.
Tourist tax included. The tassa di soggiorno set by the Comune di Cagliari is already in the nightly rate. There is nothing to pay on arrival.
The use of the house and everything in it. Appliances, kitchen equipment, hairdryer, toiletries, toilet paper, the speaker — all of it is there for you.
Final cleaning. €200 per stay, added to your booking total — the house is cleaned before you arrive.
A mid-stay clean. €200 per stay, on request — a full clean partway through your stay, with fresh bed linen and fresh towels for everyone. Add it when you book, or ask us once you are here.
Not included: parking. The apartment is in the historic centre, and we will tell you where to leave a car.
Dimora LAJ is one entire floor of the palazzo, and everything is on the same level: two bedrooms at either end, the kitchen and dining room between them, three bathrooms, and the planted courtyard off the sitting room. The roof terrace is above.

The historic centre is best explored on foot, and the residence is placed so that the old town, the market and the marina are all a short walk away. Parking in central Cagliari is limited; tell us if you are arriving by car and we will advise on the nearest options.
Check-in from 4 pm, check-out by 10 am. Other times can usually be arranged if you tell us in advance.
Pets are not permitted. Smoking outside only. Parties and events are not permitted.
A €500 pre-authorisation is held on your card shortly before arrival and released after departure. No money is taken.
